Editorial and medical review policy

Frida Australia publishes guides for pregnant women, new parents and the health professionals who support them. This page explains how that content is written, checked and kept current, so you know what you are reading and how much weight to give it.

Who writes our guides

Guides are written by the Frida Australia team at Coolkidz Australia Pty Ltd, the official Australian distributor of Frida Baby and Frida Mom, based in Braeside, Victoria. We draw on Australian public health guidance including the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists, the Raising Children Network, Red Nose Australia, state maternity services and the Australian Breastfeeding Association, as well as the manufacturer's instructions for each product.

How guides are reviewed

Where a guide carries a "Reviewed by" line, an Australian registered midwife, maternal and child health nurse, pharmacist or GP has read it for accuracy before publication. Reviewers do not endorse products; they check that the description of symptoms, timelines and when to seek care is consistent with current Australian practice.

What our content is and is not

• It is general information for a healthy pregnancy, birth and baby. It is not medical advice and does not replace your midwife, obstetrician, child health nurse, GP or pharmacist.
• Our products are designed for comfort, hygiene and everyday care. They are not medicines or treatments, and we do not claim they treat, cure or prevent any condition.
• Every guide tells you when to seek professional care. If something feels wrong, trust that instinct. In an emergency call 000.

Keeping content current

Guides show a published date and are re-checked at least yearly, or sooner when Australian guidance changes. If you spot an error, email hello@fridaaustralia.com.au and we will correct it.

Advertising and independence

We sell the products we write about. Product mentions in guides are kept to the end of the article and are clearly labelled. We do not accept paid placements in guides and we do not publish reviews we cannot verify.

Health professionals

Midwives, nurses, GPs and pharmacists can request clinic samples and printable patient handouts through our health professionals page. Handouts use the same review process as our guides.
